Check your Mac

Shoyu needs a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 15 or later. Windows and Linux are not ready yet. You can tell us you need them from the download page.

Download and install

1. Sign in, then go to Download. You can also use Download Shoyu in the Getting started tour.
2. Click Download DMG.
3. Open the DMG. In the Shoyu Installer window, drag Shoyu to Applications.
4. Open Shoyu from Applications.

Shoyu is signed with Apple Developer ID and notarised by Apple. The download page shows the SHA-256 checksum if you want to check the file.

If Shoyu asks to copy itself to Applications

Shoyu works best from your Applications folder. If you open it from Downloads or the DMG, it asks Copy Shoyu to Applications?. Click Copy to Applications. Run Once opens it from where it is, this time only.

If Shoyu says Shoyu Couldn’t Verify This App, the copy you opened is damaged or did not come from Shoyu. Download a fresh copy from the download page.

Keep Shoyu up to date

Shoyu checks for updates by itself. To check now, click the Shoyu menu bar icon, open the More menu, and choose Check for Updates….
